A long history of championship hosting

Llandudno Sailing Club has long been recognised as an excellent venue for National and Regional Championships. Over the years most of the recognised classes have held their major event of the year on the waters of Llandudno Bay. Classes such as the GP14, Miracles, Mirror, National 12, Fireball, Graduate, 420, Solo, Phantoms have featured in the list on more than one occasion. The Club has also hosted both Windsurfing and Catamaran Championships.

The event

Championship courses can be set comfortably within the confines of the Bay giving excellent sailing and also spectators on shore a view of the race.

The Race Management expertise with former ISAF International Race Officer Tony Lockett leading an experienced management team the Club is well staffed for any event.

The local area

Llandudno can also be proud of the fact that it has been in the forefront of rule development. The current rule 26 – Starting, was piloted in the Club for three years before it was accepted by the ISAF.

Shore side, Llandudno has much to offer the non-sailing partners in an event, with many family attractions and beach side accommodation to stay at.
