Race Report 6th Aug 2017
Building winds, with changeable directions ensured that race 3 & 4 in the Williams series really tested the sailing skills of the Llandudno sailors this Sunday.
The first of the day, series race 3, running clockwise around the course, maintained moderate but shifting winds. Paul Moreton was running clear until the last lap when a wind shift half way up the final beat left him stranded. Joe Shelly and Mark Jackson took full advantage to ease past Paul finishing first and second respectively. Paul recovering from the wind shift managed to minimise his losses and cross the line in third.
The second race, running in the opposite direction, still suffered from shifting winds but with the winds also building aggressively. These stronger winds were perfect for the catamaran of Kevin Parvin who stormed ahead to win easily. Paul Moreton still struggling to master the conditions and suffering several capsizes just managed to stay in front of a surprise Sunday sailor, Edward Hiller to finish second with Edward third.
